Jimmy Buffett ‘s Margaritaville Beach Hotel is the Pensacola
Need to make a tropical escape but can’t manage to make it to your favorite island? Come to the “Northern Edge of the Caribbean” and change your latitude and attitude by escaping to Margaritaville New Orleans!

In January 1985 Jimmy Buffett opened the first and original Margaritaville in the Conch Republic of Key West, Florida. Due to the success of this first endeavor, Margaritaville now has several locations to accommodate your Parrot Head whims.

The 2nd Margaritaville Store and Café were concocted in New Orleans Louisiana in August of 1992. The city was the perfect backdrop for the new location due to Buffett’s long and strong ties to the area. In fact, it was in this city that Buffett first performed for the public.

Buffett fondly remembers one of his favorite cities “My grandfather was a captain on a steamship and we’d come over here as kids and meet his ship. I think that’s why I think of New Orleans as the northern edge of the Caribbean, because his ship was always leaving from here and going to exotic sounding places like Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro. So I equated New Orleans with that world, and it was a gateway out. I came here and started musically which was my gateway out to the world. And it’s a place I always come back to.”
